Experiences of a lifetime

In Costa Rica, adventure comes naturally, whether you're gliding through rainforest canals in search of wildlife, soaring above the treetops, or slipping into the warm waters of the Pacific...

From the Caribbean coast to the volcanic highlands and sun-drenched beaches of Guanacaste, this small Central American country is bursting with natural wonders. Look for playful monkeys, sleepy sloths, colorful toucans, and watchful caimans as you cruise the winding waterways of Tortuguero National Park, where endangered green sea turtles return to nest along the shore each summer. Feel the rush of the Sarapiquí River on a whitewater rafting adventure, then discover the sweeter side of Costa Rica with a visit to a pineapple farm. Near Arenal Volcano, take in sweeping rainforest views from a scenic gondola before flying through the canopy on a thrilling zipline ride, then slow things down with a soak in naturally heated thermal springs. And just when you think you've seen every shade of green, the brilliant blues of the Pacific beckon. Cruise the Gulf of Papagayo in search of dolphins, snorkel in tropical waters, and celebrate your journey with a beachfront evening of traditional Costa Rican music. From rainforest adventures to relaxing seaside moments, discover the many colorful sides of pura vida. Read Less

Ziplining Above the Rainforest Canopy

Ziplining Above the Rainforest Canopy

See Costa Rica's rainforest from an entirely new perspective as you soar above the treetops near Arenal Volcano. Your adventure begins with a scenic gondola ride that lifts you high above the lush tropical canopy, revealing sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and forest below. Then, get ready for an exhilarating zipline experience, gliding from platform to platform above a sea of emerald green. Feel the rush of the wind, take in the spectacular scenery, and discover a side of the rainforest usually reserved for its winged inhabitants. Prefer to keep your feet closer to the ground? Enjoy the return gondola ride and a leisurely nature walk instead.

Pineapple Farm Visit: A Sweet Taste of Costa Rica

Pineapple Farm Visit: A Sweet Taste of Costa Rica

There's nothing quite like tasting fresh pineapple in the tropical landscape where it grows. In Costa Rica's fertile Sarapiquí region, discover the sweeter side of the country's agricultural heritage with a visit to a local pineapple farm. Learn how this golden tropical fruit makes its journey from field to table, from planting and cultivation to harvesting at just the right moment. Along the way, gain insight into the warm, rainy growing conditions that make Costa Rica one of the world's leading pineapple producers. And, of course, enjoy a tasting of fresh, juicy pineapple — a delicious reminder that some of Costa Rica's most memorable experiences are also its simplest pleasures.

Tabacon Grand Spa & Thermal Resort

Relax and rejuvenate with Earth's healing thermal powers

The four elements of nature – the heat of a volcano... the flowing waters of the Tabacon hot springs... the pure air of the rainforest... and the fertile earth of Costa Rica's Fortuna de San Carlos region – combine to offer you the ultimate experience of a thermal "paradise on Earth" during your stay at Tabacon Grand Spa & Thermal Resort, a luxury resort set at the base of Costa Rica's Arenal Volcano. A member of The Leading Hotels and The Leading Spas of the World, this unique resort's Grand Spa has been recognized as one of the best mineral spas on Earth.

Whitewater Rafting on the Sarapiquí River

Whitewater Rafting on the Sarapiquí River

Adventure flows naturally along Costa Rica's Sarapiquí River, where rushing rapids and lush tropical scenery make for an unforgettable journey through the rainforest. After a safety briefing, grab a paddle and set off on a guided whitewater rafting adventure, navigating Class II rapids as the river twists and turns through the country's verdant Caribbean lowlands. Between the splashes and excitement, take in the surrounding jungle, where towering trees, tropical birds and dense vegetation line the riverbanks. It's a refreshing way to experience Costa Rica's wild side, with just the right combination of excitement, natural beauty and adventure.
